Utbildning i officiell statistik för omvärldanalys | Print |

Alf Fyhrlund, Statistiska Centralbyrån

A huge supply of data from different producers and distributors is not a guarantee for accessibility of relevant information for different needs among users. Another problem is the combination of traditional paper-based distribution channels and new distribution channels using electronic publishing. Training of users in how to use statistical information for business intelligence is an important task for NSI´s. Statistics Sweden have established a course program with this purpose. We are using internal and external lectures in order to get the producer and user perspective exemplified in different subject matter areas. The program comprise three types of courses. The basic course is about “hands on” in how to access statistical databases and different publishing channels for national and international statistics. Then we have also organised subject matter courses on three basic themes which we feel are relevant in the business intelligence context for most organisations, short term economic analysis, structural analysis and regional analysis. Lately we have integrated structural and regional analysis into on basic theme.
